FIELDWORK / EXPERTISE

PREPARE YOUR BRIEF

Make the first conversation useful.

Select what you already know. The checklist turns your choices into a short note you can use when you contact us.

What information do you already have?

This checklist stays in your browser. It is not sent until you choose to include it in an enquiry.

START A CONVERSATION

Tell us what you are working towards.

Share the site, the decision and the timescale. We will help you work out a useful next step.

  1. 01

    A useful first conversation

We review your enquiry and identify the relevant specialist.

  2. 02

    A scope you can understand

We discuss the information available, the questions and the next decision.

  3. 03

    One named point of contact

Your project lead keeps the work and communication connected.

Your project, in a few words.

Please do not include confidential site reports in an initial enquiry.

COMMON QUESTIONS

A few useful answers.

If your question is specific to a site or project, let us talk it through.

Ask our team
When should we speak to an environmental consultant?

Early conversations help define the questions you need answered. Share the site location, your intended use and the decision you are working towards. We can then discuss a suitable scope and the information already available.

Can you work with our planning and design team?

Yes. A named project lead coordinates the relevant specialists and agrees how environmental findings will be shared with your wider team.

What should we include in the first enquiry?

A site address or location plan, a short description of the project, any known constraints and your target dates are a useful start. Tell us which existing reports you have, rather than sending confidential material before a scope is agreed.

Do you take on small or early-stage projects?

We can scope a focused piece of advice as well as a coordinated programme. The first conversation establishes what you need and whether our team is the right fit.

YOUR NEXT PROJECT

Let us look at the bigger picture.

Tell us where you are starting and what you need to understand.

WHERE TO FIND US

A local conversation. A connected team.

Start with your nearest team. We will connect you to the relevant specialists.

Demo office details. Please arrange any visit with your project contact.

JOIN THE PRACTICE

Do good work with good people.

Bring your curiosity, share what you know and keep learning in the field.

These roles demonstrate the theme’s careers layouts. They are not live vacancies.

The role

Work with a connected environmental team on site reviews, technical research and clear reporting. You will contribute to projects from the first brief to the discussion of findings.

What you will work on

  • Reviewing site information and identifying useful questions.
  • Supporting field visits and keeping careful records.
  • Preparing clear technical material for project teams.
  • Working with colleagues across environmental disciplines.

What you will bring

Curiosity, careful observation and a clear way of communicating. We value different routes into environmental work and want to understand the experience and perspective you would bring.

A place to keep learning

Our practice makes time for technical discussion, mentoring and sharing what we learn in the field. Speak to the team about working arrangements and support needs.

THE SESSION

A useful hour, well spent.

An open conversation about getting the environmental brief right at the beginning.

  1. Define the decision

Start with what the project team needs to know, rather than a list of reports.

  2. Connect the disciplines

Where land, ecology, water and planning questions overlap.

  3. Make the handover useful

What a clear scope and shared evidence record can look like.

  4. Questions and discussion

A chance to explore the issues that matter to your team.
